Tenerife Music Festival

Tenerife Music Festival. Two days of fun!

Tenerife Music Festival. First edition.

The Tenerife Music Festival, in its first edition, took place on June 8 and 9 in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the most important city on the island. Like any self-respecting festival, it had a big name in the lineup. Marc Anthony was the star of the first night, attracting over 20,000 spectators.

If you expect us to point out significant differences between a festival in Tenerife and one back home, you’ll find that there aren’t many. Romania has so many events of this kind that we have almost become the center of Europe in terms of music and festivals. The same days filled with music, good vibes, beautiful people, and fun. The artists differ.

For its first edition, the Tenerife Music Festival had few organizational problems. There were some, but they were insignificant. The lineup was very fitting for the locals on both days, with the mention that while the place was packed on the first night with Marc Anthony on stage, the second day was more relaxed, suitable for those who know and love Spanish music. A mix of styles from bands like Delaporte to Mikel Izal, artists like Rozalen or La Oreja de Van Gogh, extremely popular in Spain.

The port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the festival took place, offered a spectacular backdrop for the event, combining the charm of the ocean with the vibrant energy of the city. This idyllic location allowed participants to enjoy the sea breeze while listening to their favorite music, creating a relaxing and energizing atmosphere at the same time. It was warm but also cool. A feeling you only get in Tenerife!

Known for his unique style and energetic performances, Marc Anthony closed the first day of the event with a special concert. Live, with an 11-piece band on stage and a performance that drew a considerable crowd, demonstrating once again his popularity and the impact of his music. He is a SUPERSTAR, and it shows in every song. A separate concert would have been worth it like any top artist in the world, but we were glad we could see him live up close.

A superb performance by Rozalen alongside an interpreter for the hearing impaired. The song was practically sung in sign language live from the stage! A brilliant idea! You can see exactly in the video.

Perhaps the most intense moment of the second day was when Sandra, the lead singer of Delaporte, descended from the stage into the midst of the fans. Extraordinary energy!

What surprised us greatly was the passion with which the audience sang along with the artists. They know all the songs, all the lyrics, and sing together with them. Not to mention that there was a real fiesta in the back with how they danced and lived the music. These people have a special energy! They are cheerful, positive, kind, and full of life.

During the festival, visitors had access to drink and refreshment stands, offering a wide range of options to cool off and relax between performances. Also, the souvenir stands were very popular, offering themed items and memories for participants. Good food, good beer, cocktails, and everything you need for a long afternoon into the late evening. Festival prices, of course!

The Tenerife Music Festival aims to be a major attraction for pop-rock music fans and more. The diversity of the program, the quality of the performances, and the unique location make this festival an event not to be missed on the island’s cultural scene. For future editions, the organizers aim to bring even more renowned artists and improve the participant experience with additional activities and facilities.

For us, it was a special experience, after numerous festivals back home, to see one in Tenerife. If we were to give advice (even if it’s not our place), it would be to have a headliner on both days for future editions, make the breaks between bands a bit more engaging, and also bring bands that don’t necessarily sing in Spanish. Otherwise, all good!

Thank you to the Tenerife Music Festival organizers for the invitation and accreditation, and we promise to return!
