EURO 2024: Stadium Guide

The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, known as UEFA Euro 2024, will be held in Germany. This marks the 17th edition of the tournament, taking place from June 14 to July 14, 2024. Germany, which previously hosted the championship as West Germany in 1988, will bring together 24 national teams competing across several host cities, including Berlin, Munich, Dortmund, and Frankfurt. The Ten Stadiums Hosting EURO 2024 Matches:

  1. Olympiastadion Berlin (Capacity: 74,461 seats)
    • Famous for hosting the 2006 World Cup final between Italy and France, and the 2015 Champions League final where FC Barcelona triumphed over Juventus. The EURO 2024 final will also take place here on July 14 at 10:00 PM. In total, this arena will host six matches during the tournament.
  2. Fußball Arena München (Capacity: 70,076 seats)
    • Home to Bayern Munich, this stadium will not use its commercial name, Allianz Arena, to comply with UEFA regulations. Inaugurated in 2005, it hosted the 2012 Champions League final where Chelsea defeated Bayern. Romania will play its opening match against Ukraine here. This stadium will host six matches in total.
  3. BVB Stadion Dortmund (Capacity: 65,849 seats)
    • Known for its vibrant football atmosphere, it previously hosted the 2001 UEFA Cup final between Liverpool and Alaves. It will host six matches during EURO 2024, including a semifinal.
  4. Stuttgart Arena (Capacity: 54,906 seats)
    • Having hosted World Cup matches in 1976 and 2006, as well as EURO 1988, this stadium will see five matches during EURO 2024, including a quarter-final on July 5.
  5. Arena AufSchalke Gelsenkirchen (Capacity: 54,740 seats)
    • The venue for one of the most anticipated group stage matches between Spain and Italy. It also hosted the 2004 Champions League final and a 2006 World Cup quarter-final.
  6. Frankfurt Arena (Capacity: 54,697 seats)
    • This stadium, resembling Bucharest’s National Arena, will host five matches, including Slovakia vs. Romania on June 26. It will also host a Round of 16 match.
  7. Volksparkstadion Hamburg (Capacity: 52,245 seats)
    • Inaugurated in 1953, this stadium hosted the 2010 Europa League final. It will host five EURO 2024 matches, including a quarter-final.
  8. Düsseldorf Arena (Capacity: 51,031 seats)
    • Home to Fortuna Düsseldorf, this stadium hosted EURO 1988 matches. It will host five EURO 2024 matches, including a quarter-final.
  9. Cologne Stadium (Capacity: 49,827 seats)
    • Romania will play against Belgium here on June 22 at 10:00 PM. Romania might also return here for the Round of 16. The stadium will host five matches in total.
  10. Leipzig Stadium (Capacity: 42,959 seats)
    • Having hosted matches during the 2006 World Cup, it will host four EURO 2024 matches, including Portugal vs. Czech Republic, Netherlands vs. France, and Croatia vs. Italy.
