Moulin Rouge!
The Musical is a musical based on the 2001 film Moulin Rouge directed by Baz Luhrmann and written by Luhrmann and Craig Pearce. We couldn’t visit New York without going to a super show on Broadway! I chose one with 10 Tony awards!
I fell in love with Moulin Rouge the moment I saw it and I always dreamed of seeing a live stage production. I finally had the chance when I visited New York and I was not disappointed !!! I laughed, cried and clapped so hard as I experienced some of the classic songs in the film, as well as an amazing range of new ones and mixes of feelings. The theater is absolutely amazing – must see to believe! The show was amazing!
As soon as I entered the theater, I landed in another world. The best set I have ever seen, so many perfectly placed rock songs, a good plot, Leads, singers, the best dancers. An enchantment that leaves you speechless! Moulin Rouge It is a beautiful love story between an American romantic traveler and a French cabaret dancer. Their story which is complicated by circumstances and other characters forms a fascinating universe for the audience. The costumes, the theater set, the dance and the music transport you to a special world, full of magic.
The show starts with an extremely dynamic and energetic number of dance and music and the rest of the show keeps it on a similar note, combined with drama, love and even despair. The play is based on the film and is closely linked, except for a different ending, which I did not like as much as the end of the film. Aaron Tveit as Christian, Karen Olivo as Satine and Ricky Rojas as Santiago are all fabulous. There is no weak acting. A 10 /10 on the acting throughout the show. We recommend the show and the experience of watching a show on Broadway.
Fun facts… The musical premiered in 2018 at the Emerson Colonial Theater in Boston. At the 74th Tony Awards, Moulin Rouge! received a total of 14 nominations and won 10 awards (most of the series), including best musical.
I was very lucky to find a ticket in a good position in the hall. Tickets cost about 240-300 USD for the place I stayed but it is well worth it. We have collaborated with Broadway Inbound where you can also find tickets for all Broadway shows. Fascinated by what I saw, the next time I arrive in New York I decided to go see another one of these shows.
