Maria Theresa Mansion is a destination located in the heart of Romania just 15 km from Sibiu, one of the most beautiful cities in Eastern Europe. Sibiu has an international airport so the road here is relatively easy. The buildings of the complex are new and are located over a very old building dating from the times when Maria Theresa was Empress here, hence the name given by the owners.
The dungeons that were once used by the 1st Regiment, a regiment that defended the border between Transylvania and Romania, have found a new use today, one of the halls becoming a spectacular winery.
Made according to traditional plans, the mansion offers its guests a multitude of accommodation offers, suitable for any family. From double rooms to apartments where more families can stay. Each room retains an aristocratic air but at the same time benefits from all the modern elements that make life easier nowadays.
Maria Theresa Mansion is famous for its hospitality and for the special conditions it offers, being extremely sought after by both foreign tourists and locals.
The restaurant here is famous for the traditional dishes and sweets it offers on the menu, dishes based mainly on mutton because the area has many flocks of sheep. But not only mutton is cooked here, beef, chicken, fish or pork are also on the menu and barbecues usually organized on weekends are famous, many tourists coming especially for them.
The location offers two swimming pools, a tennis court, a place where campfires are made, an artificial lake where you can see Nile geese or swans. The domain is fully arranged like a mini park and you can take a walk to admire the traditional houses or the various exhibits that can be found everywhere.
The owners are great lovers of history and try to bring together old things to preserve them and show them to those who are visiting. From old icons, icons on glass, paintings, traditional Romanian folk costumes, watches or old radios to two complete armors. These are just some of the objects collected and exhibited in the field, objects that beautify the place and give it an air of aristocratic domain from antiquity.
The surroundings of Maria Theresa Mansion are truly fabulous. In the heart of Romania, besides the beautiful Sibiu, you have the opportunity to go to Sighisoara – one of the few medieval cities preserved in Eastern Europe, to Brasov – the capital city of the Carpathian Mountains, to the Arka Adventure Park and especially to Bran Castle – ‘ Dracula’s house. All are accessible by car and can be easily visited.
Maria Theresa Mansion is a place for those who want to relax in a place that besides a special hospitality, superb conditions and nature, also offers an exclusive place for the most demanding tourists.
