Tax Free Shopping in Otopeni Airport Bucharest allows non-EU citizens to get VAT associated with goods of a value over 175 euros (bought in Romania). Tourists outside the EU now have the chance to buy from Romania, in Tax Free terms, goods with a value over 175 euros. Buy from stores that are part of Tax Free Romania network and you receive the tax on the value added back.
If the client/tourist leaves the EU space through International Airport Henri Coanda Bucharest, after they get the stamp on the VAT return and on the receipt, they can get cash from the Tax Free office, next to customs. Beware, if the goods are in the hold baggage, the client/tourist has to ask for the presence of a customs agent at check-in, before giving their luggage.
If the exit from Romania is made through another customs point, after receiving the stamp on the document of VAT return and the receipt and after leaving the EU space, send the two documents to Ask for TAX FREE, in an envelope labeled TAX FREE.
After this procedure, wait for the return of your money in your bank account. The money received will represent the VAT payed for the goods bought minus a commission of administration taken by Ask for Tax Free for the return services. The stamp of the customs is obtained from the last customs spot in the EU.
Important! If the information on the documents do not correspond, the customs can refuse to certificate the exit of the goods from the EU.
Ask for Tax Free is the first company in Romania specialized in returning VAT for goods bought in a Tax Free system.
