Travel with National Express from airport to London

How to travel from airport to London

National Express

The life of a travel blogger is beautiful at first sight or read: full of trips and memories from the places they visit. With their smiles posted on their blog, on Facebook or Instagram, but to actually visit the places, there are many roads and hours spent in different means of transportation. Most times, one needs safe and on time transport to be able to connect two or three flights, train rides or bus rides.
Some time ago, I went to London to the World Travel Marketing event, and conveniently priced tickets from RyanAir brought me to the Stansed airport in London. It was the first time when my flight landed there and I was wondering what the best way to reach Victoria Station was, where I wanted to go before reaching the fair. When one gets to a city as big as London, it is very important to find a serious bus transfer company that is reliable, especially if you are in a hurry to get to the city center. If you need to catch a flight when coming back to the airport and you still have not finished what you had to do, you depend on every minute there is.
The internet is for us, as well as for you, the best resource. I searched for various modes of transportation and decided to go with the National Express bus. Why this choice?

National Express has many rides, one every 20 minutes, in different areas of London, so I chose them to try their services and benefit from the freedom to maximize my time in London.

In this article I want to tell you about the experience I had with them.
I reached London in the morning around 8:10 am, left the airport very quickly, in almost 25 minutes (wonderful for London). I did not have a big luggage with me and that helped. In general, however, I travel with only a carry-on, precisely because that makes a quick transition. It gives me the advantage of not only getting on time wherever I am headed, but sometimes also to reach there earlier. I had bus tickets for 9:35 am so I had to wait for a while but I did not want to lose time, as I was in a hurry to get to a meeting at the fair, so I went directly to the bus station, showed my ticket, asked if it were possible to leave earlier with the bus that was already in the station. They were very understanding and allowed me to take the bus before the one I reserved. Thank you! I gained at least half an hour and time is money in this industry!
After three hours of being on a plane, I was very happy with the comfortable seats in the bus, which I found very important! The socket for charging your laptop or phone, as well as the free internet, help you establish the details of your plan or recharge your gadgets, very much needed on that day. Needless to say, the wi-fi is a true wonder and necessity of the world. I am aware that it is available in most buses but the comfortable seat, the large leg room to relax, the socket for my gadgets and the internet made me very happy. In addition, the toilet in the bus completes the satisfaction rate for these services, which only when you do not have, you appreciate the most. You also do not have to be worried about the stop of your destination because the driver announces each one enough time before reaching it.
I was deep in my email inbox but I had enough time to peek at my “neighbours” and see how content they were with the “Vuer” app.
VUER is digital entertainment service,Once you’ve downloaded the app and registered, you’ll be able to enjoy hours of movies, tv shows, news and sport. You’ll even find shows to keep the kids busy and great magazines to browse through too.
So time passes by quickly enough, you cannot even tell how much time passed by the time you have reached your destination.
Although it did not apply to me, I later found out that it is allowed to bring a 20kg luggage per person in the bus or 2 smaller bags both weighing 20kgs, which would be stored in the lower part of the bus. There are also open return tickets, which means they are valid for 3 months from your first trip. This requires a reservation beforehand when you know the return date.
National Express has different routes:
  • Gatwick Airport
  • Heathrow Airport
  • Luton Airport
  • Stansted Airport
  • Birmingham Airport
  • Bristol Airport
  • Coaches to Manchester Airport
The prices start from 5 pounds per segment, a very good price. They also have a Coach Card Offer, which can be found on their website and even a hotels category, where you can find accommodation for the destinations where you will be traveling with National Express.
If your destination is not London or anywhere in the UK, National Express coaches frequently depart to exciting European destinations such as Paris and Brussels for a perfect getaway.
They have prices for these routes in Europe starting from 10 pounds per segment so everything becomes convenient at a great price. In case you go to London and have some extra time, it is possible to go to Brussels or Paris for amazing fees.
I have traveled a lot and with many companies. I know what to ask for from this type of service: punctuality, flexibility, comfort and as many extra services. National Express is a company that considers the clients a priority, offering them comfort for good prices so you cannot not choose them.
I was pleasantly surprised by their services and I am considering going with the same company when I will return to London next year at another edition of WTM.
Other bloggers told me they used many transfer companies from London airports to the city center and that they were not satisfied because of long delays, not respecting the schedule and therefore ending up in them missing their flight. I was satisfied with National Express and recommend this company to you for future trips, especially in London because they have more stations which you can reach from almost any part of the city. If you leave from Stansted airport you can get off at Golders Green, Liverpool Street Station, London Stratford, King’s Cross and, of course, Victoria Station, which is very close to the Parliament, Westminster Cathedral, Big Ben or London Eye.

Next time when you visit the UK, have your National Express tickets ready for your airport-city trip. They are waiting for you!
