Peccato Divino: Sinning Never “Tasted” Better

Peccato Divino Restaurant

In your most stressful and tiring moments, you take a minute to close your eyes and imagine yourself in a perfect picture. Your mind paints the beach, a bright red sunset, your dearest people next to you, and dishes so delicious that they seem unreal. Keep this picture in mind, and add an ambience of relaxing music, creative decor and an Italian touch to the previously painted dishes. All these components result in Peccato Divino, one beautiful traditional Italian restaurant in the Greek island of Crete.

Crete is a perfect summer destination no matter what kind of holiday you are looking for. It can give you romantic moments, adventure, quality family time and guaranteed unforgettable times. One of the main cities on the islands, including for tourism, is Heraklion. Naturally, it is worth trying the local food like gyros or pita, but the moment you want a getaway, Peccato Divino is the perfect spot for that. Located on Anissa beach, it is accessible to reach not only by taxi, but also by using a local bus, then taking a 5 minute walk to the restaurant. What is important to mention from the beginning is that the prices are convenient and accessible for anyone ranging from less than 10 euros and up.

The first element that pops out is the creative decoration. The reception table is made of wine bottles glued together, on top of which visitors can see diverse types of raw uncooked Italian pasta. The tables are surrounded by several low rock walls with windows and white impeccable curtains. It brings a plus of intimacy for the guests, while also giving a unique aspect to the place. All that combined with relaxing instrumental music creates the perfect spot for the getaway previously mentioned.

The menu has a variety of dishes guests can have from antipasti to pasta, pizza, or deliciously cooked meat. The beverages range from champagne and different types of wines (rose, white, red) to juices. As the manager said, there is not only one most requested dish because although the menu is not significantly long, it is concentrated in less meals but the best quality for all. Some of the food we tried were Garibaldi salad, Tagliatta di Manzo (medium-cooked meat with an amazing taste), rucola pizza and profiterole. We also tried the rose champagne, a very elegant and select drink that worked perfectly with the dinner. The taste of the food is incredible and the reason is chef Marco, who is pure Italian from an area close to Napoli. He has experience in places from Los Angeles to Holland and now in Crete. With a friendly personality and traditional techniques, he is the man behind the magic of the food in the restaurant. Not only him, but also the waiters are very friendly and make you feel welcome.

Peccato Divino opens at 5 pm, just in time to prepare for the sunset on the beach. As you sit down, relax, and decide on what to spoil yourself with from the menu, you can enjot the start of changing colors on the sky. It is a magical place to go to with your partner, family, or friends. The restaurant has all the right elements for a perfect evening. If you want to enjoy an event at Peccato Divino, you can also check out their Facebook page and watch out for the live music or other surprises they have in store.

Don’t miss out a fine evening by the beach during your Greek holiday.
