Polish food experience

With a few days ago I come back from Warsaw were of course I taste many dishes. I want to write for you a few option when you visit Poland. The most famous dish is Pierogi and you do not leave from Poland without trying all of them. They can be served boiled or baked with butter or other fat. You can taste with potatoes, cheese, onion, bacon, mushrooms, cabbage, meat, garlic or cream. I tasted with potatoes and bacon and it was very good. But are some sweet pierogi with cheese, vanila, strawbery and blueberry. I eat with blueberry and cream and it was very, very, very, good.

Other dish very good is polish soups and you can taste it

Polish sour rye soup

Is number one and one of the culinary musts in Poland. Is a vegetable soup flavored with cooked white sausage, garlic, onions. In some restaurants is served inside a loaf of bread.

Sauerkraut soup- Kapusniak

Is a typical Polish winter soup based on sauerkraut, ribs, mushrooms and onions and is very good. Is a unique taste.

Beetroot soup- Barszcz

Classic beetroot soup usually served wiyh little dumplings filled with meat or round pancakes stuffed with cabbage or meat usually served as an accompaniment.

Bouillon- Rosol

Is a traditional soup served at home ussualy on Sundays. Made mostly from chicken and vegetables but other meats used in cooking process improve the quality and taste. Is served with home made noodles

Tripe

Sounds peculiar but tastes great. Made of well rinsed animal stomachs, cut intto slices and cooked for a longtime with bullion. Add to this vegetables and spices. Served usually as a spicy soup. Very popular at weedings as it is believed that it makes your head and stomach stronger to enjoy more vodka and beer than usual.

The Classics

Breaded pork chops. A classic polish dinner accompanied by puree, tomatoes and a side dish of hot cabbage or a mix salad. This one works with beer!

Hunter stew. This is poland’s national dish made with boiled sauerkraut, sausages, spare ribs and a variety of ingredients.

Sausages. What a variety! They can be cold, cooked, smoked or ggrilled.Find the best way you like them and enjoy.

Venison. This special kind of meat which you either love or do not like is rather expensive and not so easy to find.

Tartar. Raw minced meat of beef sirloin served with raw eggyolk, chopped onions, sour cucumbers and mushrooms.

Potato pancakes. Deep fried potatoe pancakes can be served with salmon and sour cream, sauces or just with a sprinkling of sugar.

Jellied meat or meat in aspic. Not often served in restaurants todayIn the communist era a popular dish served  with a shot of vodka in bars.
